Registration Process
In order for your child to attend CDC next year, you need to register them in person on Monday, Feb 2nd. You need to be here by 8:00 AM prompt. We will give you a 1/2 a lottery ticket and keep the other half. After everyone has been give a ticket, we will start drawing #'s. Once your # is drawn, you will register your child in the CDC office. This is the fairest method to register your children. There is not enough availability in some classes for eveyone to get in. For instance, our MWF 3 year old classes fill up very quickly! We used to have people "camping out" all night the night before our first day of registration until we changed this last year. There is no advantage to arriving early now. Simply be here BY 8:00 AM and we will have you out of here within an hour!

Winter weather policy on school closings!
As most of you are aware, it is extremely hard to predict snow and winter weather accurately around here. There may be no need for this reminder, but we will go ahead and remind everyone of our weather and school delay policy. Once again, we follow what Madison CITY Schools do. If Madison City Schools close for the day, so does Asbury CDC. If Madison City Schools open 1 hour late (9:00am), we open 1 hour later than they do(10:00). That would mean car line and everything would operate the same, just one hour later. If Madison City Schools open 2 hours late (10:00), we will be closed. Please watch the news channels early any morning that we have winter weather for school delays or closings. Hopefully we will have gotten through to report our closing to them for display on your TV screen. You can also call the CDC phone # 837-0394. The latest information should be recorded on our voice mail.

Toys for Tots & Upper Sand Mountain Mission
Now it is time to bring in a toy! We finally have boxes for the Toys for Tots! Each child gets a sticker for every toy they bring in. Please have your child take their toy to their classroom first. The teacher will take them to put it in the box! We need enough toys to divide between these two wonderful missions, each of which will ensure that children will receive new toys this Christmas who might not have otherwise! Our goal is for every child to bring in a toy! Thank you all and may you continue to be blessed through all these missions!
Shoebox Mission
We ended up collecting 115 shoeboxes for needy children! I received a card from Mike Hurley who headed this up and he wanted me to thank you guys!
Dear Rosemary,
On behalf of Operation Christmas Child, I want to thank you and all the CDC families for your generosity and support of this mission project. Your donation of 100 + boxes was, to put it mildly, fantastic!! You all's support of this project will bring the love of Jesus to many needy children around the world. Please thank the CDC families for me.
God Bless,
Mike Hurley

Reminders....
Tis the season with so much going on!!!!! We feel so blessed and thankful to be a part of Asbury and a member of the family of God!
Operation Christmas Child Shoebox mission ends this Friday, Nov 21st. Thank you so much for all the boxes that have already come in! You parents are great...fabulous...awesome!!!
If the falling economy hasn't hit you directly and you are able, let's keep giving for the less fortunate. Starting next Monday, Nov 24, bring in a new unwrapped toy for Toys for Tots and Upper Sand Mountain Mission! Every child will get a sticker for every toy they bring in and the teachers will be talking about this in their classrooms.
